Cross-country skiing between Morin-Heights, Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard and Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.
A scenic backcountry cross-country skiing adventure in the Laurentians that will offer you a sense of remoteness, while traveling on century-old off-piste cross-country ski trails between the village centers of Morin-Heights, Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard and Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.
This self-guided version costs 60$ per person. Scroll down to see what is included and excluded. There are no official dates for self-guided tours: it’s up to you!
West Route
Itinerary and accommodation
In summary
- 46 km of backcountry nordic skiing
- 9 km on shared trails (classic cross-country skiing)
- 3 days of cross-country skiing – 10 to 20 km per day
- Loop route – return to the starting point

Daily overview
Day 1
- Gather at the Morin-Heights Cross-Country Skiing reception and pick up your tickets and stickers.
- Move to the departure parking lot in the reserved spaces.
- Put on your off-piste cross-country skis and explore the public lands of the Parc des Bouleaux sector for 12 km.
- Arrive at the Saint-Adolphe Outdoor Center, finish with 3 kilometers of shared trails (classic cross-country skiing and Nordic skiing).
- Plan your meals. (The village is a few minutes from the accommodations)
Dinner and overnight stay in Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard.
Day 2
- Ski the Jackrabbit trails to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.
- Explore 22 km of Nordic ski touring trails, including 2 km of multi-use trails immersed in nature!
- Cross the beautiful Lac Sainte-Marie and stay vigilant.
- Climb 550m on the slopes of a veritable ski highway.
- Plan your meals.
Overnight stay in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.
Day 3
- For the day, ski 20 km to Morin-Heights in the footsteps of Jackrabbit.
- Start with 4km of shared classic cross-country and Nordic ski trails.
- Pass behind the villages of Val-David and Val-Morin in the heart of the Laurentian forest.
- If you wish, add kilometers or days to your adventure with the numerous options on the Morin-Heights cross-country ski network.
- Plan your meals.
