A scenic backcountry cross-country skiing adventure in the Laurentians that will offer you a sense of remoteness, while traveling on century-old off-piste cross-country ski trails between the village centers of Morin-Heights, Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard and Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.
Backcountry nordic skiing is a winter activity that dates back thousands of years in Northern Europe. It is also the practice that made the Laurentians region the cradle of skiing in America. Today, backcountry nordic skiing equipment and practices have evolved considerably, allowing for greater ease and comfort than ever before.
West Route

Summary
- 48 km of backcountry nordic skiing.
- A three-day adventure with 10-20km per day
- Loop – starting and finishing at the Bouleaux parking
- One night in a local inn
- One night in a fully-equipped pod

Hourly
Day 1
- Meet at Les Bouleaux car park and meet your guide(s)
- Ski on the excellent BC nordic ski network of Morin-Heights
- Cross the vast Lac Saint-Joseph, with views of the quaint village of Saint-Adolphe d’Howard
- Arrive at Les Conifères, your home for tonight. Enjoy a meal, and take a dip in the hot-tub!
Dinner and overnight stay in Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard.
Day 2
- Ski La Canadienne, a veritable BC nordic highway to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts
- Start the day by crossing the beautiful Lac Saint Joseph and Lac Sainte-Marie
- Explore 17 km of beautiful nordic skiing in maple and birch forests
- Arrive at the Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts Regional Park
- Enjoy a group meal, before retiring to your pod
Dinner and overnight stay in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts.
Day 3
- Spend the day skiing through beautiful birch glades (18.5km)
- Warm-up with 4km of shared classic trails
- Cross lake Theodore admiring the landscape
- Enjoy stunning views as you pass through the valleys
- Finish back on the Morin Heights nordic ski network for a (easy) roller-coaster finish!
