Introduction to cross-country skiing
Under the guidance of an adventure tourism guide, come and experience the Nordic lifestyle on the cross-country ski trails of the Laurentians. We’ll meet at the St-Adolphe d’Howard Outdoor Center to get you started! In collaboration with Locapaq, partner and facilitator of your outdoor experiences.

Prerequisites:
You need to have a basic knowledge of cross-country skiing.
Procedure:
Bloc AM
- 9:30 AM Arrival of participants, equipment collection
- 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM – Practice of basic techniques
- Presentation on White Roads and heritage trails
- Participant equipment and presentation of the materials.
- Particularité des terrains en ski nordique
- Ascending and descending techniques
- 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM – Lunch outdoors – (Participants must bring their own meal)
Bloc PM
- 12:45 to 13:00 – Travel to the ski departure parking area.
- 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM – Guided introductory cross-country skiing tour, 5km loop – practical training period

- Reasonable physical condition
- 12 years and older (if a good skier but younger, please send us an email)

- Putting it into practice with a 5km loop.
Training objective:
You need to have a basic knowledge of cross-country skiing.
By the end of the course, you will be able to explain the differences between Nordic skiing and cross-country skiing, ascend and descend a slope using various Nordic skiing techniques, and take your first steps towards independence in Nordic skiing. You will be at the right level to complete the east or west trail in a guided format.
